I use Ooma in the office and on my mobile app. I have never missed a call and love that the voicemails get emailed to me so I can save them and allocate to a file. When I need my techs to have a call that I received, I can easily transfer to them, conference call them or forward the voicemail. Ooma has also allowed me to fax, in those rare occasions, with ease and without the old school machine.
  • Transfers call with ease from base to my cell
  • The fax option is super easy
  • Even when the power goes out, I still get the calls on my cell
  • Allow caller id to transfer over as well
Our techs work on the road. They are never in the office, so the app is perfect for them.

The virtual assistant feature is fantastic. You can type out the greeting and it is read by the virtual assistant. All of our calls have been routed to the correct person using this feature. It really has been a game changer for our company, with getting customers to the correct person the first time.
  • Virtual Assistant
  • Voicemails to email
  • easy to transfer or conference calls if necessary
  • better caller id function
If you do not want the mechanical voice of the virtual assistant, you can record your own outgoing greeting. You can also have a call roll to another extension if the person you were trying to call doesn't answer.

I was using another VOIP company for phones and a different company for fax service and was contacted by Ooma. They showed me their program which was less money and free faxes included. I was able to cancel the other two companies and save the entire amount I paid for fax service. Since the covid hit, I have worked from home a lot, and the fact that I can answer calls on my Ooma cell phone app or my laptop computer any time, any place, anywhere allows me to not be in the office, but still receive all my calls. They have cut my communications bill in half. I highly recommend them.
  • Allows me to answer the phone any time and anywhere
  • offers free fax service
  • Gives me the freedom to leave the office and still be connected.
  • I wish there was a way to stop calls that have a spoofed caller ID number.
  • I would like to be able to have different ring tones for my personal cell calls and my business Ooma app calls.
Ooma has worked well for me in all areas because if I have wifi or a cell tower connection anywhere in the world, I can make or receive Ooma business calls. I love the price too! I am totally happy with them and have recommended Ooma to several other businesses and I have not had anyone tell me they have had problems since switching to Ooma.

We use Ooma Office for everyone in the company including mobile users. It has allowed us to eliminate the spam callers as well give our mobile and remote users the ability to make business calls - from any device, from anywhere, at any time - without having to worry about any long distance charges, or without giving up their personal telephone numbers (at home or cellular).

We have multiple lines used for phone calls and faxes. We used the [Ooma Office] mobile app heavily as we are now working from home. The savings switching from previous phone provider has been tremendous.
  • Inter phone conferencing
  • Phone clarity, no distortions
  • Mobile app access
  • Faxing has to be done thru website access
  • Integration of phone contacts on mobile app changes my caller id for those contacts
[Ooma Office is] well suited: companies with high internet speeds, saving money monthly, working remotely

Less appropriate: faxing, phone conferencing with customers

  • A receptionist without employing a receptionist
  • Eliminate spam calls
  • Call from any device
  • Work remotely
  • No long distance charges
  • Send and receive faxes virtually
  • Competitors allow for line flexibility; not all companies need a dedicate line for every user and this could lower the costs even more.
Ooma Office is suited for practically everywhere and everyone; however, it can be a little more pricier then some of their competitors that offer line cost flexibility.

It is used as our only phone system for the business. It allows us control to customize our menus, so customers can get basic info without having to speak with someone. It also reduces the amount of call transferring that needs to be done, since callers can reach the proper department right away. It also has eliminated spam calls for the few months we have been using it.
  • easy set up and number porting
  • flat rate pricing
  • easy to customize menus
  • I wish when clicking the help menu on the side, that it would not navigate away from the page I was using
  • I wish the online chat feature was available more often
  • I wish when calling customer service they didn't ask me to rate them every time, but I get it.
It is really ideal for an office setup with cubicles and everyone has their own headseat. It is less ideal for a retail setting where there is significant movement of employees through the store. They do have cordless devices, which make this feasible, but to make the menu work appropriately, those phones should be kept at their respective charging locations most of the time.

We are using Ooma Office across our whole organization. We handle heavy volumes of phone calls daily. Our call volume per phone number averages around 200 daily. We receive different kinds of phone calls per day. Like all businesses, we need to focus on booking new customers. With Ooma Office, we are able to use virtual receptionists to guide a caller through different menu options so that their calls can be directed to the appropriate channels. Being able to do this allows us to focus on new clients and existing clients easily and more efficiently than before.
  • Technical Support is spot on! Fully knowledgable, VERY helpful, and easy to get in touch with. What more can one ask?
  • AMAZING value for money! When I tell you that get way more than you pay for, multiply that 3. The regular package is more than enough for a smaller business, but the great thing is that Ooma Office also offers a PRO package. Ooma Office is a well-thought-out, useful and a forward-moving company as a whole.
  • Easy to use. Super simple to install and set up.
  • The Sales team needs to be a little more organized and set up to answer questions for users who aren't familiar with how VOIP or IP systems work. It would have been nice to know all of the features and how things work from the get-go. We sat on the purchase for over 6 months because we couldn't get the answers we needed. Eventually, we just took a leap of faith (since there are no contracts) and boy-oh-boy are we glad we did it! Super happy Ooma customers.
  • The mobile app always has poor audio issues for the caller. Not sure why. Maybe the physical device itself? Can't really chalk this one up to Ooma's fault, but perhaps their app needs improvement.
Easy to use. Communication is the start to any successful business. Starting off with Ooma Office is the only way to go. There is no business that wouldn't benefit from Ooma Office regardless of which line of business you're in, how many employees you have, how many departments there are or aren't. Ooma Office is a must-have for every business—without the tech, costs and headaches other VOIP/IP companies put you through. Smart, effective solution for any business.

Loving Ooma So Far

Score 9 out of 10

We use Ooma Office as our main phone line; it helps us manage calls, takes messages, and assists us in having all the information we need to call back a potential client or current client.
  • Records and saves messages with the caller's phone number.
  • Answers calls that I cannot get to because I am with a client or at court.
  • Forwards calls to my cell phone that are not being answered in my office.
  • Sometimes the connection is spotty or conversation is choppy/unclear.
I think it is a good product for a solo practitioner or attorney working on his/her own because it is helpful like an assistant would be in answering calls, forwarding messages, etc. and is priced competitively (not a high-risk monthly cost; no contracts).

I am an IT Consultant for small business organizations. I use Ooma Office for my own business and I have customers that use it as well. So far it has proven to be a stable, reliable, and affordable small business VOIP platform.
  • The Ooma App allowing you to answer incoming and place outgoing calls using a mobile device (such as a cell phone) is very useful if you spend a good deal of time away from your office as I do.
  • The Efax service for each user is a plus.
  • As a small business, the built-in automated receptionist presents a much-improved image of my business to callers.
  • The fact that you can choose to continue to us your existing non-VOIP phones can be a plus.
  • If you already have your own VOIP phones you will not be able to use them with Ooma. Even though provisioning VOIP phones is not that difficult Ooma's tech support DOES NOT provide support or information to provision phones. They are the only VOIP business provider that I know of that doesn't.
  • The Efax usage is not as user friendly as most other Efax services. Instead of using email to send a fax (like may other services do) you must log in online to your Ooma portal to use the Efax. Very cumbersome if your industry uses fax a great deal.
  • Ooma considers 20 or less users to be a Small Business and to use the Ooma Office which limits your use of their inexpensive service. Any company with more users must use their Enterprise service at a higher per user cost.
Ooma Office has a limit of 20 users, more than that and you must use their Enterprise service. But for a 20 or less (total) user business that needs the basics of a VOIP phone service and DOES NOT already have VOIP phones or wishes to continue using standard telephones Ooma is a very affordable and capable VOIP service.

Midwest ROI is currently using Ooma across our entire organization. It makes it so easy to transfer calls to users or ringing groups. Its so easy to use even while working from home.
  • Easy to use and set up.
  • Call logs by extensions.
  • Ringing groups makes our customer service better.
  • Getting voicemails via email make it easier to forward voicemails.
  • Ooma app can use improvements, it makes it hard to sign in.
  • When transferring calls directly to an external device I would prefer it gave more details on the call ID.
  • Offer BAA's - we would like to use the faxing function but can't since there are no BAA's offered to ensure HIPAA laws are being complied with.
Great VoIP service it is a great solution as it is easy to configure and set up. However, I wouldn't use their faxing capabilities unless they can ensure they can protect the ePHI we would receive and/or send.
